Soundsketch is a musical ensemble formed by Tatev in 2012 comprised of six musicians, friends and fellow graduates of William Paterson University. Tatev's unique union of jazz, Armenian and classical influences in addition to sextet's varied origins of instruments, offer innumerable audio palates for the listener. Many of Tatev's pieces or scores for Soundsketch are written to ornate and strengthen the visual experience of animations, films and cartoons.
Tatev was born in Armenia on July 7th 1987 to artists family. She quickly showed a great interest for music and began formal classical lessons in both voice and piano at the age of six. Childhood and continues fascination with haunting and magical fairy tales of different nations, cartoons and animations continue to be a big part of Tatev's musical inspiration. Tatev has composed scores for two short films and three animations and has performed in numerous venues individually as well as with Soundsketch .
Tatev moved to the United States in 2003 after achieving much recognition in Armenia. She is a scholarship graduate of 2009 Jazz Studies at William Paterson University and 2006 NJPAC's Jazz for Teens program.
Tatev is a performer, a composer for films and animations, and an art entrepreneur who connects and realizes common visions of creative minds.
